BREAKING: Faber to fight for title at Arco - April 24th

In speaking with WEC president Reed Harris, I have learned that Sacramento native Urijah Faber will be facing champion Jose Aldo at Arco Arena in Sacramento on Saturday, April 24th.
This will be the WEC's first pay-per-view; pricing will be set at $44.95. Other fights announced: Donald Cerrone vs Ben Henderson, Mike Brown vs Manny Gamburyan, more to come on the Carmichael Dave show tonight.
Lesnar to Make UFC Return

Brock Lesnar, the larger than life UFC heavyweight champion, has announced his return to the octagon tentatively scheduled for summer 2010.
In his first public comments since mysteriously pulling out of a title defense with Shane Carwin a few months ago, Lesnar explained that he was diagnosed with diverticulitis, a digestive issue. Originally told he had mononucleosis, further tests revealed a more dire problem, and Lesnar was faced with surgery to remove part of his colon, which would have ended his MMA career.
Opting to let the body heal on its own turned out to be the right move, as a CT scan taken yesterday showed that Lesnar’s condition has healed, and he is ready to begin his return to the UFC. The former WWE wrestler explained that he dropped 40 pounds at one point, only to gain all but 10 of it back.
Looking at the UFC schedule, it appears clear that Lesnar will more than likely face the winner of the upcoming Frank Mir vs Shane Carwin bout, which is being billed as an “interim heavyweight title bout”. Sitting next to Mir at a recent Sacramento Kings game, I asked him about the prospect of facing Lesnar again. The former champion (who lost his belt to Lesnar) expressed doubt that he would ever square off again with the mighty Minnesotan, which had to be even more disappointing considering the massive body change Mir has gone through since losing his belt. When I remarked how huge he looked at the game, Mir told me he was currently tipping the scales in the neighborhood of 285 pounds, easily the most he has ever weighed in his career. At first glance, it looked like muscle weight, which would presumably give Lesnar less of a size/strength advantage than he had last time they squared off.
With the UFC dealing with a mass of top talent injuries, including Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre, and the departure of Quentin Jackson to go make a movie, Lesnar’s impending return is a definite boon for the Las Vegas based promotion, especially considering he remains their biggest PPV draw.
