A member of the Sports 1140 KHTK staff for over 8 years, John Dickinson brings an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and interactive style to the airwaves each and every Sunday morning. John, a Sacramento native and graduate of El Camino High School, American River College and attendee of Sacramento State University is local in every sense of the word. His passionate takes and diverse knowledge of northern California and national sports issues brings a unique, refreshing, perspective to the airwaves of Sports 1140.
John joined the Sports 1140 KHTK staff in August of 2000 at the age of 19 as an intern. He has been a behind the scenes cog of every show on the station at one time or another since. He has also been heard on the air in every day part. In addition to his Sunday morning show John also hosts the “Oakland Raiders Gameday” and “Raiders Wrap-Up” show. He serves as the Associate Producer and Technical Director of both “Sportsline w/Grant Napear and Mike Lamb” and “The Jim Kozimor Showgram.” He also serves as the Kings Radio Network coordinator and can be heard in a backup role as a fill-in host of “Kings and Monarchs Live” pre and post game shows, as a sports update anchor in addition to being a reporter. John got his on-air start on KHTK as the producer and update anchor of the original local 9pm-Midnight show on KHTK, “Monty till Midnight” in 2005.
John is a an avid baseball fan and supporter of the Sacramento Kings, San Francisco Giants and 49ers as well as the San Jose Sharks of the NHL and Sacramento State athletics (you’ve got to be true to your school no matter what). John resides in Roseville, California.
