WHAT SHADE OF PURPLE IS HOPE?

What are we as Kings’ fans to hope for as far as the rest of this season goes?  Where the Kings end up drafting will probably not be affected one way or the other by wins or losses at this point, given where every other team is in the West.  Development of younger players?  Doesn’t seem to be a major concern of Reggie’s.  Finishing .500?  Uh … that’s about as likely as Koz posting up Kayte Christiansen.    So … what’s best for the team from here on out?

It would be nice to figure out the whole Ron-Ron thing, but that won’t be settled until after the season.  If he does well, is he more likely to opt out, or at least bring more in a potential sign and trade? … and there it is.  Right now the Kings are at the mercy of Ron Artest.  Will he stay or will he go (cue Clash)?

How did the Kings end up in a predicament like that?

The Kings are at the mercy of Ron Artest.  Not an enviable position.  So for now, post up Ron, run the offense through him, hope he piles up huge numbers.

And by the way, great nickname for Salmons today, courtesy of Spencer Hawes.  When I asked about Salmons’ knack for gliding between defenders, Spencer quipped, “He’s kinda like a slinky.”

Exactly.  Spencer’s pretty smart.  For a Republican, that is.
