WHITEY GLEASON
Born in the tough, nautical town of Vallejo, Whitey Gleason brings to the airwaves each weekday morning a tough, nautical perspective on sports. This can be annoying when the sport in question doesn't involve boats, but that's part of what makes Whitey Gleason unique.
Whitey began his broadcasting "career" as a sports reporter on San Francisco station KYUU in 1984. So impressed with Whitey's work was parent company NBC, that they sold all of their radio properties four years later, chasing Whitey north to Sacramento. After ten and a half years at 93 Rock, Gleason took over morning duties at KHTK in October of 1999. When asked what Whitey has brought to Sports 1140, Program Director Mike Remy crinkled up his nose and asked, "He's the one who needs a haircut, right?"
Known almost as much for his parody songs and nutty voices as he is for his questionable grooming habits, Whitey has nonetheless led the award-winning Rise Guys Show through seven fabulous years at KHTK. He's never going to gain acceptance to the Barry Bonds Fan Club, nor is he ever going to live down that ill-conceived Laker Funeral. But the high-energy guy about whom the Sacramento Bee wondered, "Is he man or machine?", will find a way to make an impression -- whether through his sharp wit, his withering critiques of the sport's world, or his commendable attendance record.

PHANTOM
Contrary to popular belief, The
Phantom brings a lot to the
Rise Guys Show. A lot of
anger, a lot of bitterness, a lot
of resentment, a lot of...well,
you know the type. In fact,
one theory is that the
members of the Rise Guys
Show keep Phantom around
so they'll feel better about
themselves.
Occasionally these person-
ality quirks can be mined for
comedy gold but for the
overwhelming majority of the
time, Phantom weighs the
show down in much the same
way that Andrew Ridgely did
to WHAM!
In the early nineties, Phantom
found a woman with nothing
left to live for and she agreed
to marry him, if he always
stayed at least 25 feet away
from her. Despite this
sensible precaution the happy
couple has two sons, ages 13
and 9, who have not yet
realized the sap in their family
tree.
When reached for comment
on this bio, Phantom
complained about being
awoken from his nap, yelled
out the door for some kids to
get off his lawn and then left
to start his bath. Check out
this dynamic personality
weekday mornings from 5-9
on The Rise Guys Show on
Sports 1140 KHTK.

F.P. SANTANGELO
Michigan-born, Miami-
educated and Montreal-
indoctrinated, former Major
League Baseball star F.P.
Santangelo and Rise Guys
designated "man about
anything."
F.P. averaged .245 in a
seven-year major league
career that included stops in
Montreal, San Francisco,
Los Angeles and Oakland.
While in the Bay Area, F.P.
put his University of Miami
broad- casting degree to
good use and began honing
his skills as a talk-show host
and contributor on area
sports radio.
By his own admission, F.P.
has no filter (except, of
course, whatever the FCC
won't allow). He tells it like
he thinks it is, and isn't afraid
to engage on controversial
subjects. He's not just a
former player, he's a fan at
heart.

Little Joe Pittman,
Executive Producer the "Rise Guys" show Sports 1140 KHTK
Despite popular belief, he is not an intern...Once long ago pre Y2K, he was an intern, but for the majority of a decade he is a proud, paid, employee of Sports 1140 KHTK...He's Little Joe Pittman, Executive Producer/Stupid Stunt Boy for the Rise Guys show and pretty much the reason Sports 1140 KHTK is so AWESOME!!! Little Joe, the Producers Producer, is radio's version of Simon Cowell discovering such talents as Danny "Mr. 10 & 11" Pinto, Emily B'Delicious, and Carmichael Dave...Well, maybe we should leave that one off...
Little Joe continues to kick A** behind the scenes waiting for all of his undiscovered talent that he posses to explode onto the air waves like Mount Vesuvius...As well as producing, Little Joe displays his talent as a MC/DJ on the weekends for the greatest entertainment company, Extreme Productions...When not entertaining millions, he's amusing few playing baseball, basketball and golf while usually drunk and stripping or losing cards in Vegas, hammered...
Little Joe is happily married, and has been since May of 2004...His wife Laura and him have an incredibly beautiful amazing little girl named Hannah...She is absolutely awesome, saying Foo FIghters, and trying to say fox which sounds a lot like Fu__. He is a DIEHARD 49ers and North Carolina Tar Heel fan...He loves the Foo Fighters and has a huge man crush on Dave Grohl...Little Joe is a closet Justin Timberlake fan, but please don't say anything, he wants to keep that one a secret...

DANNY PINTO
Associate Producer, Show Engineer and Sports 1140’s Most Underused Talent
For most of the 21st century, Sacramento native Danny Pinto has been the man at the controls of a show that is, quite often, out of control. Danny is a huge fan of the 49ers, A's, Kings, and of course “The Beautiful Game” (that’s soccer for all you ignorant Americans).
American by birth but Portuguese by choice, Danny can't wait to hear each morning from the lesser-informed consumer -- in short, he loves to hate stupid sports fans, reveling in their misery as they implode on the airwaves he controls!
But away from radio, Danny is a guy parents want to bring home to their daughters (what happens after that is no one’s business except for Danny, the girl, and the internet). Danny loves to play sports, socialize at a pub or six, and enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and girlfriend (sorry ladies)???
Along with engineering Sports 1140’s best morning show, Danny also does sports updates at 10AM and 11AM and is lovingly recognized everywhere in Sacramento as “Mr. 10 and 11”. |
